Shara Proctor Anguilla’s Golden Girl Shines Again

With the 2010 North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) under 23 track and field Championships in the annals of history, it shows that Anguilla placed fifth from amongst eighteen teams. The top five countries at this prestigious meet were the United States, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica and Anguilla.

Shara Proctor Ranked amongst the world top ten long jumpers, Shara Proctor shone in all her glory as she battled competitors from the region. Her poise and superior skills were able to inch pass her closest competitor Bianca Stuart (6:42m) as she leaped to a distance of 6:43m, securing her the gold medal. The remaining Anguillian athletes Mr. Yoann Romney placed eight in the high jump with a height of 1.90m, Mr. Keron Rogers placed 18th in the hundred meters with a time of 11.28 seconds and Akeeme Mussington jumped a distance of 6:81m in the long jump.

The Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships (CAC) were held in the Dominican Republic. Several Anguillan athletes produced competitive performances. Please refer to the table for the results.

The Anguilla Amateur Athletics Federation would like to congratulate the athletes and their coaches for their performances at the championships.
